Everyone say hello to our newest addition, Boss! I've loved him for a long time and now he's finally ours!
Ok, now onto the nitty gritty. This post is intended to be more informative than just letting you know what I'm up to so prepare thyself. First: I cannot express enough how important it is to be straight forward with me. I am a very black and white person and very much a straight shooter (just ask my friends). With that being said, tell me what you want! You are the client, I am here to provide as service for you as per your request. Be honest and tell me exactly what you want and the world will be a better place:) Will we agree? Sometimes yes and sometimes no. I'm the artist and I know what will look good and what will look terrible; but please, please, please always ask! I will always let you know if your idea is doable or if that pin on your Pinterest board should be erased forever:) Second: I believe my rates are VERY modest. Will my rates go up as I get better and buy better equipment? Yes! News flash, EVERY photographer goes through this as they grow, and I'm growing:) Whew, had to get that off my chest! For those of you who have worked with me know that I am very laid back and flexible, these are just some of my pet peeves that needed to be addressed. Do you feel better? I feel better. Onto news, I have a family session coming up this weekend so be on the lookout for that! It will be loads of fun! Happy Wednesday everybody!

For those of you who don't know (and couldn't tell by my photos), I LOVE animals. Sometimes I feel like I have more animal friends than people friends! My cat (Cookie) and dog (Brady) always know when I'm sick or something's wrong with me. Petting them and being with them is sometimes the greatest medicine. My love for animals has pushed me in the direction of pet photography, totally without plan! More recently I have been volunteering my time and services at the local shelter. I just love meeting these pets that had a rough start, have found themselves homeless and just illustrating their true character and personality. They are true "diamonds in the rough" 9 times out of 10. This kitty was soo sweet and social! Can't you almost hear is meow through your screen?! Please consider bringing a homeless pet into your home for this holiday season!
Today I had the opportunity to go to Culpeper County Animal shelter and volunteer my professional photography services and capture some adorable pups! It is my hope that my photos of these great pets will help them find their furever homes. This pooch is named Kingston, he is a spaniel mix who is approximately 5 years of age. During the time I spent with him today, he is very sweet and would be a great companion for someone special! I will be making lots of visits to the shelter as new pets come in so stay up to date on all incoming residents. Also, look on Emily Ann Photography's Facebook page for other dogs I visited with today!
